FIFA21 TOTW1 Predictions

By September 28, 2020No Comments

The 1st TOTW is upon us for FIFA 21, big question what will we expect to feature in it and how will upgrades work too. With ratings for a lot of cards not revealed this may prove tougher as a result, but we will try our best.

FIFA 20 Ratings used where a * is to indicate not got a confirmed rating.

GOALKEEPER

Mike Maignan – GK – OVR 82 Lille continue to show in recent seasons they have established themselves as a team that play impressive football but defensively are strong too with Maignan attracting more attention too he got a 7 from L’Equipe and made 6 Saves keeping a clean sheet, while Benitez got GK of the week, Maignan is our nod.

DEFENDERS

Marcos Senesi – CB – OVR 77  With defensive options limited, we have went with Senesi who scored an impressive goal in Feyenoord’s win while did not keep a clean sheet, his goal stood out which may help.

Sebastian Coates – CB – OVR 81 The big question from Portugal is who gets the nod for TOTW1 will it be Coates or Dias in defence both played well with a goal and clean sheet,

James Tavernier – RB – OVR 75 Tavernier was unlucky last season to not bag an IF but he’s set himself up early this year with 2 goals and 1 assist, while a late own goal by the team may hamper him, with lack of options he should still feature.

MIDFIELDERS

Alejandro Gomez – CAM – OVR 86 Gomez just continues to kick on as Atalanta potentially look to challenge again for Serie A, Gomez got 1 goal & 2 assists with an 8 on Gazzetta too.

Andreas Iniesta – CAM – OVR 81 Iniesta still making an impact even in Japan as he got 1 goal & 2 assists, only issue is the game window but even then he still deserves as ran the show.

Federico Valverde- CM – OVR 83 Real Madrid dug deep and Valverde proving again to be the difference in midfield, while unlucky to not bag an IF at all in FIFA 20, he may be bagging 1 in week 1 with a goal and MOTM performance, with a more desirable card too, only needs 1 or 2 IFs to truly standout.

Dries Mertens – CAM – OVR 85 Mertens running the show in attack with 1 goal, 2 assists while only got a 7 from Gazzetta it is hard to ignore, the alternative is Lozano for 2 goals and a 7.5 but 1 of them should get in regardless.

FORWARDS

Luis Suarez – ST – OVR 87 Suarez has started with a bang at Atletico as came off the bench scoring twice and assisting 1 goal as Atletico ran riot, while they have 5 potential players with a shout we’ve opted for Suarez.

Jamie Vardy – ST – OVR 86 Vardy continues his early form with a hat-trick against Manchester City sealing his spot in the TOTW.

Wissam Ben Yedder – ST – OVR 84 Ben Yedder scored twice as they beat Strasbourg, while he only got a 7 from L’Equipe should be enough to make the TOTW, alternative from Ligue 1 is Icardi.

SUBSTITUTES

Nahuel Guzman – GK – OVR 79 The Tigres GK made 4 saves & kept a clean sheet in the big game in Mexico which should help his cause of lack of standout GKs.

Unai Lopez – CM – OVR 78* The Bilbao mid scored twice from CDM and got a 3 from Marca which should seal his spot.

Sergio Oliveira – CM – OVR 78 The Porto mid ran the show with 1 goal and 1 assist sealing his spot. Corona is the alternative but we’ve gone for Oliveira.

Jonathan Viera – LM – OVR 81 With the CSL having 3 games in a week, can make hard to truly justify who gets in and with 2 of the games Beijing Guoan were impressive but lost the one that may matter. However Viera ran the show in the 1st game with 2 goals and 1 assist from LM, with Fernando in the Monday game a standout don’t be surprised if 1 gets in over the other if feature.

Andrej Kramaric – LW – OVR 82 Hoffenheim ran riot with a 4-1 home win over Bayern Munich with Kramaric picking up a 1.5 from Kicker, after he scored 2 goals which should seal his case.

Niclas Fullkrug – ST – OVR 77* Fullkrug ran riot with POTW on Kicker with a 1 but a hat-trick to seal his spot.

Adrian Mierzejewski – ST – OVR 76* The striker scored a hat-trick which should seal his spot too.

RESERVES

Bradley Wright-Phillips – ST – OVR 76* The veteran forward scored 2 & earned POTW with multiple games he may be ignored for others but he deserves the spot.

Enzo Roco – CB – OVR 72* Roco scored a goal and kept a clean sheet as his promoted team continue their shock start to the season.

Luca Caldirola – CB – OVR 72* The Benevento CB helped his team comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 scoring 2 goals & earning a 7 from Gazzetta which may help his cause.

Stefan Mugosa – ST – OVR 69* Mugosa scored three of those goals and assisted another to seal his spot.

Andrei Cristea – ST – OVR 67 Joining the hat-trick club is Cristea and secures a spot in TOTW as a result.
